The Panasonic AG-UX180 4K Premium Professional Camcorder records DCI 4K (cinema 4K) at 24p, UHD 4K up to 60p, and FHD up to 120p (when set to 59.94 Hz standard). The camera is switchable between the 59.94 and 50 Hz frame format analogous to NTSC and PAL. This allows the camcorder to integrate seamlessly with a wide range of current broadcast video systems in place around the world. Featuring an integrated 20x optical zoom lens and a 1″-type sensor, the camera records in DCI 4K, UHD, and HD in MOV, MP4. The camera is also capable of recording HD in the AVCHD format. The 16-axis color correction functionality enables precise color adjustment not usually available on a camcorder.

The AG-UX180 offers a bevy of other professional-level features, including dual XLRs with phantom power, SMPTE timecode generation, gamma settings for eight different scenarios, and manual control rings for iris, zoom, and focus. To monitor the status of all settings, and to perform critical focusing functions, the camcorder features both a high-quality 3.5″ OLED touchscreen and a full-color LCoS 0.45″ viewfinder with 1,770,000 dots of resolution. It incorporates two SD slots that allow for simultaneous recording in UHD and HD (DCI 4K can only record to one SD card). You can also choose relay recording, which allows the recording to shift from one card slot to the other as the card fills up. Panasonic’s background recording allows you to record continuously on one card while starting and stopping the recording on the first card. Dual-codec recording is available, allowing you to record UHD on one card and HD video on the second.

High Performance 4K LEICA Dicomar Lens

The AG-UX180 is one of the world’s first 1” sensor cameras (with an integrated lens) to feature 20x optical zoom. Combined with the industries widest lens (24 mm), it ensures you get the shot you need, near or far, with the ability to take your frame from 24 mm (wide) to 480 mm (telescopic) in no more than 2 seconds. The i.Zoom function (HD mode only) increases the zooming capability to a maximum of approximately 30x zoom, while still maintaining high resolution. If needed, Digital Zoom (2x, 5x or 10x) gives you super-telephoto magnification equivalent to a 300x zoom without a significant drop in light intensity.

Variety of Recording Formats

Images can be recorded with a resolution of 4K (4096 x 2160)/24p, UHD (3840 x 2160)/60p or FHD (1980 x 1080)/60p. Versatile and easy-to-use MOV (QuickTime), MP4 and AVCHD file formats are supported.

IR (Infrared) Shooting in Dark Places

The IR Cut Filter can be turned ON/OFF (allocated on the User button). When the filter is turned OFF, IR lights (sold separately) can be used for shooting in dark places.

FHD VFR (variable frame rate) Recording: VFR recording can be set in 10 steps from 2 fps to 60 fps (60Hz) / 9 steps from 2 fps to 50 fps (50Hz).

Slow Motion

Super-Slow Motion (120 fps/100 fps)

Super-Slow Motion: Slow-motion effect can be achieved by highspeed HD recording at 120 fps (59.94 Hz) or 100 fps (50 Hz).

Dual SD Memory Card Slots

The AG-UX180 comes equipped with two SD cards slots, enabling options such as unlimited relay recording, simultaneous recording, background recording and UHD/FHD Dual Codec recording. Dual codec recording allows for simultaneous capture of UHD 30p and FHD, or FHD and FHD low bit rates, which essentially produces master and offline/proxy versions of footage. An efficient workflow can be achieved by using the Sub Rec File for tasks such as previews, offline editing and Internet data transfers.
